The Dress That Grew Up and Became a Top

Once upon a time, I ran into a yellow jersey tunic/dress.  I LOVE yellow and although it wasn’t perfect, I told myself that we’d work it out somehow.

As its novelty began to wear off and reality started sinking in, I came to realize that the only reason I ever bought it was because of the color.  It was so badly done and truth be told, it looked AWFUL!

Soooo, I had to face the hard truth – it wasn’t pretty.  BUT did I mention it was an amazing shade of yellow and that I LOVE yellow.  I simply can’t throw it out.  I should, but I can’t.
In my total agony over my beloved yellow “uggghhh” dress (no drama here), I decided that I had to find a way to save it, I’ve met wayyyy bigger challenges before.  Maybe it just wanted to be something else?

Looks like a muumuu, right?

The hem is all over the place.
It's now or never.

Sizes are approximate.  You can always experiment with different sizes and fabrics too.  Here is a quick video how-to.
Attach to lovely creation – starting at center front using tacking stitch.

I started with the bigger size at Center Front and alternated sizes  work your way out both ways – trying to stay even

Hem beautifully – of course.

Success.  Voilà!!
